So our appointment this morning went well. Dr. Woo and Dr. Clark thought that the wound looked pretty good. Dr. Woo said that on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the best it could look, it was a 2. At this point he said he was most concerned about the swelling. He told us that we really have to keep it elevated as much as we can, hence duct taping hand towels to it. There was also a blister next to the incision, but Dr. Woo said he isn't too concerned about this. He said it'll pop and new skin will form. They decided to put another cast on, and I am really happy about this. After seeing that wound, I couldn't imagine having just an ace bandage on. I feel like it'll be more protected with the cast. Dr. Woo said that he likes to remove the cast after a week to check on the wound, but it's not unheard of for him to put on another cast. So now we'll go back again next Tuesday to remove this cast and once again check on the wound. I am praying that the wound will look good and that Eli is not too uncomfortable with a huge cast and a pile of hand towels strapped to his sweet leg for a week. I can't wait until he is all healed.
gosh he looks cute, and it doesnt appear to bother him! You are doing an excellent job Kristina.
