Grace is 8 months old!

g8mths

My sweet Grace turned 8 months old last Tuesday.  She is growing so fast and changing by the day that I wanted to share about what she is up to these days before I forget.

Grace is a rolling machine!  It was very hard to get any decent pictures of her on the chair, because she was trying her hardest to roll right off.  She rolls around the house and from room to room.  When she is on her belly she scoots backwards and is quite determined when she wants to get somewhere or something.  Just today in the playroom she got across the room to Eli and then managed to scoot towards the outlets and try to get the lamp cord.  Man oh man do I have my work cut out for me with this sweet girl!!

I just love this age she is at right now.  I love how she’ll just randomly put her head on my shoulder by my neck to cuddle.  I love how she blows raspberries and giggles at her brother.  I love how she laughs when we play peek a boo.  I even love how sometimes she cries when I set her down and then smiles at me when I pick her right back up.  I love how she has started to suck her thumb more during the day now, and will do it when she is upset or tired or even when I walk into her room to put her down for her nap.  It is precious.

I think I forgot to mention it last month that Grace now sits all by herself.  This walker is her favorite toy (it was Eli’s of course) and she just loves playing with it.

This is the best picture I have of the two of them from this past month.  Not great, but it is almost impossible to get one of the two of them together and looking at me.  I love this one because it is classic.  She is just tickled to sit by her brother and he can’t get out of there fast enough.  Needless to say she is still over the moon for her big brother.  She tries to get by him all the time, and if he just touches her for a second (even if it is a bit rough) she laughs out loud with glee.  She can’t get enough of her Eli.

Grace also loves the dogs – especially Frank!  He is extremely gentle with her, and she lights up when he comes in the room.  He’ll lay down next to her while she plays and she has been known to nibble on his ears.  I think it is safe to say that she is an avid dog lover.

Grace isn’t drinking her Daddy’s juice yet, but she is thoroughly enjoying finger foods.  She loves baby puffs and cheerios and fruit and veggies.  I would say that her favorites are strawberries and carrots so far.  She still eats baby food, but she seems to really prefer the finger foods and feeding herself.

Oh, and can’t forget to mention that Grace now has 4 teeth – soon to be 6!  Her top two eye teeth came in (just like Eli – he got his two bottom teeth, then his top eye teeth before his front teeth), and her top front teeth are just starting to poke through the gums.

This picture also reminds me to mention that Grace is really loud – like I have never heard a baby as loud as her in my life kind of loud.  I am not talking about her crying, just the typical sounds, and screeches she makes throughout the day.  Sometimes they are so ear piercing that my ear drum actually hurts.  I am not complaining though, it is just part of who she is and I love her for it!  She also babbles a lot now and I have heard her say “momma,” and “baba” although I am going to wait a bit longer until I actually am sure that she has said words.

I love this picture of me with G.  It’s nothing special, but it is just a great pic of how we are on an average day.  I can’t say enough how much I love my sweet girl.  She brings so much joy to my life and I feel completely blessed to have her.  She is growing up so fast and many times I think about how she seems to have the personality of a 25 year old with the body of a baby.  I look forward to seeing who she becomes.
