Today at 35 weeks I had my follow-up Level II ultrasound at Shands Hospital with Dr. Richards. It was originally scheduled for yesterday, but then had to be rescheduled due to the doctor's schedule. I was concerned that the appointment today would be canceled because of Tropical Storm Fay, but we finally got seen after about 1 1/2 hours of waiting!
It was well worth the wait because all looks good with Eli! Dr. Richards said that there is no extra fluid on his kidneys and the measurements on his right leg were pretty much the same as they have been. His right femur and tibia are a few millimeters shorter than the femur and tibia in his left leg, but that is just how they have always been. Dr. Richards wasn't able to get a great look at his right foot, but he did say that he sees at least four toes. He said there could be a fifth toe, but he just wasn't able to accurately tell us. We are preparing for Eli to only have four toes on his foot and then if there are five it will be surprise :)
He is head down and had his legs all scrunched up over his belly; Jered and I don't think he likes it when the doctors look at his leg! His estimated weight is 5 lbs 13oz and I have 5 more weeks to go!! Overall, I am just so thankful that we got a good report and so looking forward to meeting this little guy in a few weeks.
Im so happy the storm is keepign away from you and the Eli is growing strong!
ReplyDeleteKristina, that is great news about the scan, it won't be long now before Eli is with you and you will wonder what you ever did with your time before babies!!! Keep safe and I hope the storm stays away.
