My sweet girl turned 9 months old last week! She is growing up so fast and I feel like she is 9 months going on 16 years old!!
Grace seems to be a people person and a charmer. She smiles and coos at everyone she meets and seems to have a knack for making people fall in love with her.
She continues to be very vocal and I can officially say that her first word is “Mama.” It’s quite obvious now that she calls for me when she is upset or even if she just wants me to hold her. It is precious and melts my heart every time.
She laughs a lot and loves it if we start laughing…it cracks her up every time. One of the funny things she does is pretend to laugh and it kind of sounds like, “huh, huh, huh.” She’ll do it a few times and then start cracking up and laughing naturally. It is so funny.
She is still a rolling machine, but she is so very close to crawling. She can get in the crawling position and then sort of rocks back and forth. I think she’ll start crawling any day now.
My girl loves to eat! No more baby food for her, and she really doesn’t like to be fed. She is an independent woman and likes to feed herself and eat whatever we are eating.
Oh, and she loved ice cream too!
Grace is a pro at holding her own cup and even holds her own bottle when she feels like it.
It seems like our dolly has a bit of a naughty streak. She loves getting into things that she knows she shouldn’t. She loves to try and eat shoes, play with cords, try to pull lamps down, etc. When I see what she is doing or about to do and say, “No, not for Grace,” she gives me a huge smile and keeps going for whatever it is she wants.
Grace is such a trooper! Now that she is a bit older it is a lot easier to go places, and we are really enjoying it. As long as I have food for her, we’ll be fine. I’ve been trying to do something every day with E & G and we are having lots of fun on our adventures.
Speaking of her Big Bro – she still adores him. She has a bad habit of pulling his hair though, but I try to tell him that she does it out of love.
I’ve been thinking lately how amazing it is how God sends you just the right child for your family. Grace is just what our family needed. She makes all three of us better people and just brings so much joy into our lives.
One last thing I want to record is how Grace now lets me rock & cuddle her to sleep! Except when she was a newborn and slept with me, I have never been able to do this with her. I’ve always had to lay her down awake and let her fall asleep on her own. Every moment that I get to rock her and cuddle her to sleep is a precious gift.
Happy 9 months Dolly! You are so loved.
She is absolutely beautiful, Kristina!! I love her smile and those bright eyes. What a blessing!
ReplyDelete(Hannah had the habit of pulling Joshua's hair, too...maybe it's a girl thing :)
