Happy 2nd Birthday to my sweet boy Eli! I can hardly believe you are 2 years old! I feel like I just held you in my arms for the first time yesterday…sigh.
Here is what you are up to at 2 years old:
-You love cars, trucks, bikes, motorcycles, trains & airplanes. You know the names of all the different airplanes you have and you love to make sounds for all your vehicles. When we are outside if you just hear a motorcycle you will scream out “motorcycle!”
-You love to color with crayons, colored pencils and markers and you especially love to write with a pen. You hold pen very well.
-You love to read. We usually go to the library every 2 weeks or so and get a bunch of books. After a few days of having the books home, you begin to memorize the books. Sometimes when you wake up in the morning or from your nap, I can hear you on the monitor reciting your favorite books from memory. We also have recently gotten some “big brother” books and “my big boy bed” books and you love those too.
-After a few months hiatus, you have once again become obsessed with your “Baby Signing Time” DVDs. You ask to watch one about once a day. You also like to watch Mickey Mouse, Handy Manny, Super Why and Elmo. You like to watch the Weather channel with Daddy too :)
-You love watching videos on the computer. We have about 60 of your favorite clips saved on YouTube. You have a large variety of videos that you like to watch: alphabet, number, colors, shapes, states, reading, spelling, etc. Most recently you have begun asking for “Thomas! (Thomas the tank engine) videos.”
-You did two sessions of swimming this summer with Mama and are going to do another session with Daddy in 2 weeks. You LOVE to swim and are at your happiest in the water. You can blow bubbles and are not afraid to go under.
-You just started Gymnastics with your buddy Jack and you have so much fun! The teacher makes you sit before you get your turn and this has been a bit hard for you. You just want to run around and wrestle with Jack :)
-You are a still a great sleeper and go to bed at about 8 p.m. and sleep until 7:00 a.m. You nap for about 2 hours every day as well. You don’t cry when I put you down, you know the routine and you like your sleep.
-Recently you have begun to get a bit picky when it comes to eating. Last week was a bit rough (you were spitting out all of your food!), but you are getting better. You love fruit, English muffins, smoothies, cheese sticks, goldfish, and graham crackers. Getting you to eat meat is tricky, but usually you do like sausage and eggs.
-You love to play outside and swing and slide and go on wagon rides. You have so much fun with your sidewalk chalk and you love to smell flowers.
-You love your doggies; especially Frank.
-You love to do “bed toss” with Daddy when he gets home from work. Sometimes I get scared that he tosses you to high, but you laugh and laugh and have so much fun.
I love you so much my sweet boy! My wish came true the day you were born.
Happy Birthday my love!
