I am officially 34 weeks today! I remember when I went to L&D at 27 weeks, they told me that if my water did break they would try to keep me in the hospital until 34 weeks, so 34 weeks seems like a small victory I guess. Lately, I have been just over being pregnant and feeing like the end was so far off. But today I am feeling really good about everything. Eli’s birthday is next weekend and then I’ll have 4 weeks to get ready for the baby.
I scheduled my c-section date at my apt. on Tuesday. If all goes as planned, our baby girl will be born on Tuesday, Oct. 26th. That is only 2 days before my due date of Oct. 28th, so I just hope she stays tight until then. Eli’s emergency c-section was so scary and hectic, and so even though I am nervous about the upcoming surgery, I am looking forward to a more relaxed experience.
Everything is going fine with my health and the health of the baby. I go every week for a NST and they do an ultrasound to check for amniotic fluid levels. It’s ridiculous and I have voiced my opinion repeatedly, but this is their “protocol” for someone with chronic hypertension, so it is what it is. I was able to schedule my c-section with the doctor of my choice, so at least I am excited about that. I go next Friday for another more in depth ultrasound to check fetal growth. I am excited to see how much she weighs.
I am having total second thoughts about the name we picked out. I like the name Amelia, but I am just not sure that is our daughter’s name. Right now I am pretty happy with “Grace Evelyn” and when Eli says “Baby Grace” my heart just melts.
Finally, I reluctantly had some maternity pics taken about 3 weeks ago. I am not someone who looks especially attractive while pregnant, so I have never been into this idea, but it was for a fundraiser for the MOMs Club I joined and they were super cheap. Most of them are awful, but here are a few I am willing to share on the blog:
