Lows & Highs

Its been a busy couple of weeks and I have been neglecting the blog. We've had a bunch of things going on, some good and some not so good.

My uncle Chevi (mom's brother) passed away this past Saturday. He was 61 years old. He went into the hospital to have a hip replacement, got an infection and died.

The last time I saw him was at my wedding in 2006. I wish I had known him better. I feel sad that he never got to meet Eli, but know that his spirit will always be with us.

Here is a picture of us in our Michigan shirts. We are big dorks, but we love these shirts (thanks pretty!), and are really missing Michigan falls.

Another low/high is that Eli's leg has been falling off way too much. I realized that I have been to Paul's office every week since the end of July, except for one two week period in September. As of last week we got a neoprene sleeve (kind of like a knee pad) that he wears over the top of the prosthetic leg and it goes up his thigh. I hate it (it looks so uncomfortable), but at least it helps the leg stay on. There is no way to explain how frustrating it is to have his leg fall off 10 times in a 20 minute time period. So, the good news is that we have an appointment to get a new leg made with Paul on Oct. 26th!

We went to the pumpkin patch this past weekend with Eli. Despite the fact that it was 95,000 degrees (don't even get me started on this OCTOBER heat wave in FL), Eli was a pretty good sport.

Because it was so hot at the patch, we attempted to do a photo shoot at home with my little pumpkin :)

Coming soon - Eli's first trip to a baby gym, family photo shoot & my thoughts on physical therapy!
