My sweet girl turned 1 year old last Friday. Unfortunately, she was sick with a pretty nasty cold, but that didn’t stop her from having fun on her birthday. We started out the day by opening presents in the morning when she woke up. She got some practice helping Eli open his presents, but she pretty much knew exactly what to do.
Eli & Grace both love this new animal book!
The highlight of the day was seeing how excited and happy Grace was when she opened her baby doll. She started signing baby, smiling and saying “baby,” “baby!” It was seriously one of the most special moments of my life…I’ll never forget it.
Grace and Eli both like her new tea set, and E was nice enough to have a tea party with G on her special day.
It is really fun to have a baby doll and pink teapot in the house. Makes me smile.
Grace had rice and beans and a chicken quesadilla for her birthday dinner.
Then it was time to sing Happy Birthday and eat cupcakes! Grace was curious at first and slightly cautious.
She quickly caught on and picked up that whole cupcake and started taking bites out of it. She especially enjoyed the frosting. It seems as though she has a thing for chocolate like her Mama.
After dinner Grace played with her baby doll a bit more. She would pick her up and show her all around the house; she especially liked to show her pictures.
I had brought down Eli’s old shopping cart from the attic, figuring that G could use that as a baby stroller. She loved putting baby in the cart.
It was super exciting seeing Grace push baby in the cart/stroller. She was hesitant at first, but quickly caught on. So proud of my birthday girl!
I really can’t believe my baby girl is 1 year old and now a toddler, but at the same time it does seem to suit her. She is wise old soul, and it seems like she is on a fast track to grow up. This past year has gone by so incredibly fast. I am so thankful for my daughter, she is amazing and brings so much joy to my life.
Happy 1st birthday my sweet Grace Evelyn!
