There is so much I want to say about my boy. I am so very proud of him...he is my hero. The story of him walking is beautifully normal. He was cruising for a while, then he started walking holding on to two of our hands, then one hand, then a finger. He began to take a step or two and then would fall into my arms. Then he would take a few more steps and fall. Right before Christmas he would take a step or two from one piece of furniture to another. I wondered - "does that count as walking?" Then either Christmas day or the day after, there was no second guessing. My boy walked...all by himself.
I would say 95% of the time I think to myself that he is just moving along like any 15 mth might be. But there are brief moments in time, like last night when I was cleaning up his shoes, that I almost lose my breath thinking about all that he has overcome. I am so thankful for where we are today, and just so proud of my son.
You should be proud of yourself too: you've learned so much. You're educating people about FH as you go. And you've got an amazingly cute son!

He is amazing, Kristina. I was just thinking that of my Hannah earlier today :) It's hard to believe it's only be one year since her surgery....they've come so far, haven't they? They are full of determination.
